Eight Questions To Ask Any Lawyer You Are Considering Hiring

In our last issue, we responded to a reader's inquiry about how you can find a good lawyer.  Here's more.  Once you locate a lawyer, be sure to interview the lawyer.  Here are some tips to help you.

1. "Will there be any charge for the initial interview?"

 2. "What kinds of cases like mine have you handled?"

 3. "If you investigate my claim and then decide not to take my case, will I be responsible for paying for the costs you have incurred?"

 4. "When will the statute of limitations run in my case?"

 5. "What are you going to do to investigate my potential claim?"

 6. "If I do not recover anything from the defendants, who is responsible for paying the costs?"

 7. "How will I know what is happening in my case if I hire you to represent me?"

 8. "If you file a lawsuit in my case, how long will it take for my case to go to trial?"

These eight questions will help you choose the right lawyer.
