![]() Children do not vote and have no paid lobbyists, so their interests often get short-changed. Child safety, especially in motor vehicles, is a high priority for Jim and Sharon who support legislation to require seat belts on school buses. The Foundation also sponsors a Public Service Announcement on KUWR – Car Talk each week, urging parents to use proper child restraints in vehicles. Community Involvement: Saddlebags Full of Support and Help for Children – Litigation Arts In addition to donating school supplies to needy Wyoming children at the start of each school year, the Foundation also supports the University of Wyoming Law School’s efforts to train lawyers to advocate for children.The foundation also donates money to the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association to purchase bike helmets for needy Wyoming children. The Fitzgerald Foundation for Children has supported numerous other organizations and schools. For example, for the past seven years, the Foundation has donated money to the Laramie High School Nordic Ski team to purchase uniforms. The Fitzgeralds also support Project Graduation, an all-night party put on by Laramie High School. The gala is designed to keep graduating seniors off the roads for a safe graduation night. The Foundation also supports the University of Wyoming Nordic Ski Team. Last spring, both Men's and Women's Nordic Ski Team won the National Championships for the first time. ![]() Donations have been made to the Wyoming Children's Society, Wyoming Public Radio program regarding car seats for children, the Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County, Wyoming, Cheyenne's Children's Show, Habitat for Humanity, One Step Help Center, Prevent Child Abuse Wyoming, Friends of Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, Friends of The Community Recreation, Cheyenne Shrine Club, Laramie Athletic Youth Baseball Program, CASA of Laramie County, Ivinson Memorial Hospital, Wyoming Special Olympics and the Laramie Junior High School Orchestra.
